“Doing” Leadership

By Carlos Figueroa with Judith Ross-Bernstein

“…Here, the meaning-making process takes a different form and this is why I play around and experiment with different pedagogical tools and techniques to try and bring out this process…it’s an experience…something where you have to engage… ” Carlos Figueroa

What exactly is “doing” leadership? In this video, Carlos explains his active classroom simulations carefully designed for undergraduates as experiences with leadership by responding to the following questions:

  1. What is it that you do to design leadership experiences for students?
  2. Describe some of the behaviors of the students that guide you along this line of teaching.
  3. You have a particular perspective on leadership in teaching.
